Release of Coia Valls’s new book, La cocinera (The Cook)
The fourth novel by Catalan author Coia Valls, La cocinera, is available since March 19 through Spanish retailers both in Spanish and Catalan. The story is set in the tumultuous Barcelona of the 1770s, and follows the path of Constança Clavé, a young woman who travels back from the Peruvian court to her homeland after losing her father. Her only possession is a recipe book, and she intends to establish herserf as a professional cook , but this is a men’s world, and the rules of their art are not open for discussion.
The book was presented today in Barcelona by the author, the editor Carol París (from Ediciones B), and the chef Carme Ruscalleda, to whom the novel is dedicated.
