THE LIQUID WORLD

Author: Wednesday 29 October 2014

Víctor Brons, a professor of public secondary school, is depressed. His wife left him a year ago and now the holidays start, a period of two months in which time seems to stretch like both his hobbies and obsessions.

The failure and inability to find anything to hold on to (the family or friends do not console him) take him to remember the other summers that have decisively marked his life while he plans a revenge of unforeseeable consequences.

The lack of sense of the educational system, the uniformity of urban spaces and the non-existent relationship between merit and public awareness are part of the liquid world in which Víctor Brotons sinks, a fluid world in which it is difficult to find a balance.

LIVING IN PLOTS

Author: Wednesday 29 October 2014

Claudi was born and has grown up in a housing development village. Son of a construction worker that decided to open his own business, he has turned into a writer and has just got divorced. The encounter with old friends form high-school, like an actress or the manager of a lay funeral parlour, makes him face up to lives as bittersweet as his own. At the same time, he begins to remember people already dead, as Baixer, the Moroccan assistant of his father, or Simon Loewenthal, marked by the Holocaust. They are the lifes and souls that live on the plots of the village.

JOANA E.

Author: Wednesday 29 October 2014

SO MUCH LIFE

Author: Wednesday 29 October 2014

Seven women bound by love, sadness, hope, loss and affection. Few people know about the Lighthouse Island but for those who finally reach its shores, life will not be the same again. Mencía knows it. Six other women stay by her side as they travel together to the Lighthouse. Menorca is there, waiting for them. They will share secrets and love, pain and pleasures, glances in silent and never-ending words. Their voices are alive, generous, and unique. An intense atmosphere surrounds them, as they slowly reach the island while their thoughts go backwards and pass through all their lives.

KETCHUP

Author: Wednesday 29 October 2014

Freedom does not exist. Life only offers two choices: Forming part of the group or dying  … That is what is in the mind of Miki, a young man from Barcelona who wants  to escape from his fate.  Doing his homework, completing his studies, finding a decent job….Or selling drugs, driving around at full speed, thinking you’re the king of the world?  Where does your future lie, Miki?  You have two choices, just two. “Ketchup” is a literary vision of the abandoning of ethics on the part of young people living in the our cities, a novel that paints a picture of the emptiness of a lost generation with the precision of a chronicle, a world that the reader will instantly recognise if he happens to be travelling on any evening urban train.
