Today we wish to share what are we taking with us to the Frankfurt Book Fair, something that you have been asking in our social networks.

In the agency we have to design two different catalogues: one addressed to the international publishers, in which we include our spanish and catalan authors, and one addressed to the local publishers, an invention that Sandra created years ago with the goal to make it easier for the publishers, since we present them a selection of the most prominent books of all the catalogues that we represent in the agency.

This is one of the tasks of a good literary agent: identify which books should be prioritized and identify those that unfortunately, do not fit in the market. Instinct? Data? Sales? All these elements combined create the perfect equation but literature is not only maths, so perhaps each title needs a different ingredient and therefore, our job is to analyse, select and find out who to contact with and why. It is not a job that you learn over time: you just do it with effort and passion. Catalogues are a very useful tool to begin our work in the Fairs but it is only the starting point for selling. They are our basics!
