‘Maldita verdad’ by Empar Fernández wins the Tenerife Noir Festival Award of Ciudad de Santa Cruz
Maldita verdad, the novel written by Empar Fernádez, has won the Tenerife Noir Festival Award of Ciudad de Santa Cruz, which is granted to the best noir novel published in Spanish the year prior to the celebration of the festival.
The novel by Empar Fernández competed for this award with another six titles. The jury has distinguished it because of its ‘character’s originality, emotional twists, the way in which talks about a situation that no one is exempt from living’. Besides, the jury noted that Maldita verdad is a ‘novel of clean and intimate writing that goes a step ahead in the evolution of the noir genre without losing its essence’.
