THE BOOK OF WINTER

Sixteen-year-old Joel lives in a working class town in the outskirts of Barcelona. Joel spends the days dreaming of leaving home to travel the world. When the time arrives, he stops for some days in an abandoned village in the rural Catalan province of Cadí. There, for a series of reasons Joel will start searching for “El llibre de l'hivern”, an accursed book which can lead mankind into a never ending hibernation. This is Miralles’s second novel for young readers. “El llibre de l’hivern” shares aspects with Gothic Literature, but still has the philosophical spirit that characterises Miralles.
