DEL CAPITALISMO AL TALENTISMO
In The Postcapitalist Society, Peter F. Drucker wrote that the production’s key factor is no longer the capital, the land, nor the work; but the knowledge. He also portrayed this new society with new social classes formed by workers both of knowledge and services.
Juan Carlos Cubeiro starts from this premise to analyse in-depth the change of cycle, that is, the transition from capitalism to talentism. At the same time, he examines what is necessary for a director, manager or professional to know and apply in order to succeed in this new era.
As the author describes in this essay, capitalism –the economic and social regime based on the capital’s preponderance as an element of production and creation of wealth- is substituted by talentism –the economic and social system in which talent is more limited (and thus more valuable) than capital.
After discussing the reasons that explain the change of era, Cubeiro describes all the fundamental issues to triumph in this new period in which is needed a new attitude, new values, a new economic approach –more behavioural economy and more common good- and new professional and working competences.
