NOCTURN DE SANT FELIP NERI

Author: Wednesday 29 October 2014

Clara Bertran is a blind young woman from an old aristocratic family in Barcelona. She commissions Carles, a writer who ekes out a living of literature, to write a book about a street musician, Franz — a violinist from Sarajevo living off people’s good will in the Gothic Quarter. The story is as curious as intriguing.

Inside the walls of a rambling medieval house in St Philip Neri Square, Clara, Carles and Franz’s lives interlace to form a text that stands as an enraged scream in face of the terrible difficulties some people must endure to simply keep on living.

Nocturn de Sant Felip Neri is, at the same time, a critical and lucid portrait of the present city of Barcelona and its history, an overwhelming chronicle of the Balkans’ tragedy, and an outright condemnation of all kinds of war, past or future.

UNA HISTÒRIA IMMORAL

Author: Wednesday 29 October 2014

Is it possible that a man hires secretly the services of a sex professional to regain his wife’s desire? Isn’t it a paradox when a husband has to resort to a third person to restore his sexual life within the couple? Is jealousy love or wounded vanity? What limits would we be capable to break for love? What revelations are we ready to listen about the person we love? Enric knows he is playing with fire and he has opened a door he may not be able to close. But the temptation to discover Anna’ secrets is too powerful. What Enric seems to ignore is that in love happiness and truth are not always compatible.

ELS FANTASMES DE DALÍ

Author: Wednesday 29 October 2014

“I came to imagine all sorts of stories that framed Dalí’s character as an enigma to solve. That is why I needed to start inquiring from my father’ secret and the best place to do it was l’Empordà. Maybe they were just family demons, but I needed to expel and throw them into the sea. Even more, I believed that my future as a person was depending on that. There was a strange fate that forced me to do it”.

With the pretext of gathering information on Dali’s craziness, Guillem will travel to Figueres and Port Lligat, where he will stay with an old schoolmate, Hector and his family. Soon we will become aware of Guillem’s obsession with Dalí, with whom he thinks he has more in common besides his delirium. The reader follows Guillem’s research on a possible family connection with the genius and, at the same time, will progressively discover the real reasons of his trip, in which can be intuited a desire for revenge .
