ROMEVA I RUEDA, RAÜL
Raül Romeva y Rueda is a Doctor of International Relations and has a degree in Economic Sciences for the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. From 2004 he is a member of the European Parliament where he has mainly dealt with topics related to Immigration, Rights and Liberties, Equal of Opportunities, Foreign Affairs and Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. Before that, he had been a teacher at the UAB of International Relations, researcher in Peace and Disarmament (Intermon Oxfam, Centres UNESCO of Catalonia, School of Peace Culture), and Assistant to the Representative of the UNESCO in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the literary field he has published different academic essays such as Bosnia-Herzegovina: lliçons d’una guerra (CUC, 1997), Pau i seguretat a Europa: prevenció de conflictes armats en l’Europa de la postguerra freda (CUC, 1998), Desarme y desarrollo : claves para armar conciencias (IntermónOxfam, 2000), Guerra, posguerra y paz : pautas para el análisis y la Intervención en contextos bélicos o postacuerdo (Icaria, 2003), Bosnia en Paz (Libros de la Catarata, 2003), Construcció europea: present i futur de la UE (Fund. NNHH, 2009), besides numerous articles in collective works. He has also participated in several poetical anthologies. Sayonara Sushi is his first novel. In 2013 has published El retorn a Shambhala (Rosa dels Vents)
